Whats the secret? intake removal

Is there some secret to get the damn thing off? I've got all the bolts, peripheral mounts, vacuum and coolant lines disconnected. The manifold is loose but i cant get it back quite far enough to clear the studs. Anyone who's got this thing off care to throw their $0.02 at this post?

I know sometimes the Egr hose keeps it from moving back, or just the harness in the way.

its the biggest pain in the ass ever. You gotta take EVERYTHING out in that aera pretty much. The wiring harness goes through the intake and you gotta get all the wiring from that section off and it has to go through the small hole in the manifold.

mine was a pain in the ass nbecause of the wire's that go through the upper plenum.after doing injector's i ran all the fuse box and ignitor wire's out the front under the TB.

My secret is I pull the motor half way out of the engine bay so that I have a clear view of the side of the manifold

Damn!!! that sucks, i was hoping to do this sometime, but now i am not sure if i want to. I am not going to be taking the engine out for a long time. It took 6 hours, over 2 days to get it in.

With out a doubt im going to be re-routing the engine harness. I never wanna have to go through that again! I guess it was for the better anyway. Gave me a chance to get my engine harness out. Now i can get er' all cleaned up... One of my pet peeves is cluster fucked engine bays:aigo:

Can you change the injectors to MKIV JDM 440cc without taking the manifold off?

yeah you can swap the injectors out with the manifold still on. its still kind of a pain too . not as bad as removing the whole intake though.
