You know they made ~15 1jz mk3 USDM? Reason they arent around anymore is because you couldnt get parts for them.

i saw a TE37 Corolla with flares, a 77 MX32 Cressida that looked like it rolled off the assembly line. It was IMMACULATE. No oil leaks it looked brand new. Also saw a MK1 Supra once. And ive seen a couple of Datsun Fairlady roadsters.

well then I win, got my 89 MkIII from south Indiana. no rust at all not even in the rear inside wells.

And is an Opel GT really that rare, I know of two for sale right now. they are very close to me I drive buy both every day.

other things I just remembered wile working on car, a Fifth gen turbo celica, one yard last month had five MKIII at one time all manual, all non turbo, two where targa. lowest miles on all five where 90K.

This bums me out...at our local junkyard they pretty much just crush anything thats not domestic after about a week...

I literally went in there one time and saw a full nearly mint (cept no wheels) Talon tsi in line for the crusher and then walked back in the yard and saw a totally bear early 80's Camaro shell sitting there...

Jesus Zumtizzle - there doesn't appear to be a single salvageable part on that MKIV.

Looks like it was chewed up and spit out.

Any idea on what the backstory on that mess was?

As of right now no one has a clue what happened.

It looks like a car that an older asian dude drives in my area drives; and i haven't seen that car for a while.

But, conclusions people who've seen the car have had; the owner didn't die (no yellow tape or equivalent.), and maybe he or she is in a coma.

But so far local owners have gone and Snagged the Carpet for 15 dollars (No Clue How), the rear diff for 2 (yes TWO) dollars!!!

So the vultures are attacking and trying to grab what they can. One crazy son of a gun is thinking of showing up with a large cutting device and snagging the body harness and whatever he can!!

Funny thing is there were a handful of 1j mk3s shipped to the US. Back in the 90s and early 2000s when my cousin was heavily into the mk3 community he remembers someone coming on the forums and asking for help and saying he couldnt get parts for the thing. He posted pics and everyone was in aww and disbelief at the sight of a LHD USDM 1jz car.

Wish Toyota released mk3 US production numbers.

Well, not to discredit you, but engine swaps didn't start 5 years ago, some people swap out a brand new car's engine sometimes while there's still plastic on the seats...
