Whats the most power you could make on pump?

I'll like to run well within the 12's on pump gas anything faster is golden.. But since I live in California we have the good American piss water to use, 91 octane!!! I know we could make alot of Hp/Tq on race gas but really its to expensive to ever do it (5-6 bucks a gallon or more!) Plus to me thats not "TRUE" horsepower, since you cant go to the pump... I wouldn't mind using octane booster if needed but not c-16...

The reason I ask it because I have a good friend I used to work with and his SRT4 dynoed at 410whp @ 18psi using 91. Using c16 he made 523hp @ 25.5psi. Using a t61 ball bearing, TB, FMIC, intake, chip.. How he just bought a set of cams and a computer... I would really like to make him cry!!! Plus the vette in my other posts... lol

Thanks Ken.

sure you can make 500 on supra useing 91 just got to choose the right turbo setup and other

to make 500 on pump gas you just build a 750hp car..... :icon_bigg

Methanol injection is the way to go on this. I use denatured alky on my GN because it is easier to buy it at Home Depot. Meth is much cheaper generally.

The Alky Control kit is working well for Malloynx.

step 1. build motor
step 2. add big turbo
step 3. crank boost until it pops
step 4. repeat steps 1 and 2 and then 1 pound less pressure wise
step 5. beer

I just wanna point out his horsepower increased when he switched to the 110 but he also went from 18psi to 25.5 so the boost had a lot to do with the power gain and isn't octane just to prevent detonation so higher boost can be ran, We get 93 here in Southeast Missouri and I have tried octance booster and yes it does nothing so a good waste of 5 bucks LOL not to mention its pain to go buy it then get gas, I used it once never again. 93 is good for me

I come from a land down under
Ran a methanol Injector on my old Datsun 240z and as a bandaid it works well as LONG as you have it configured to pull the boost back if it runs dry :( (fairly easy to do these days but a big challenge back then)

There are a couple guys running just over 500 rwhp on 94 octane pump. It's all in the intake temps IMO - so run a turbo that makes lots of flow without much heat, run a ridiculous intercooler, spray the IC, etc, etc.

Horsepower is not cheap! for the added safety, you should consider paying the extra 5-6 dollars for the race gas. I'm guessing that you want a strong running car that will beat a lighter car (srt4) which is making 400+ whp, that being the case, you will have to put money into your stock car just to get it to compete. A few bucks in race fuel to keep you from blowing up is not a bad investment. Personally I'm looking to build my motor to support 15-18 psi on pump daily. Thats with a 61mm turbo which I plan on seeing ~400whp at that boost level. If you are looking to just have the advantage while racing those two people, get a few gallons of race gas and race them both at the same time. Then when you've beat them both and the race fuel runs out, you can go back to pump gas and just savor the win.

I do agree that horsepower isnt cheap but really i'll like to be able to run anytime, anywhere while using 91 octane only, and still run pretty decent... How much Horsepower does it take to run well within the 12's?? I dont want a dyno queen but I'll like to have a nice quick car on pump.. Really I give the people running high horsepower alot of credit yet there NEVER going to use it unless there on race fuel.. Haha I'm just ranting, your all right...
