I was just riding in a mkiv yesterday with an hks super dragger. It's pretty quiet even at WOT and I think the mkiv version is 3.75" piping.
On a side note. I made 266hp 292 torque with a stock cat and catback (bic ddp).

Yes a stock 2 1/4(IIRC) NA exhaust on a turbo car is just about as bad as it gets. You will see significant gains from putting a proper 3in exhaust on there. You will be very surprised.
Thank you everyone for answering all my question. I was searching the forum and came across that RSR GT2 system. Its loud but my goodness it sounds like the MK4. I might have to put aside being quite and go for one of those.

and get your DB rating, know the legal limit. with your rating obviously showing lower (they do it at emissions stations here in texas it really depends on where you live) than legal decible limit then vuala you dont have to pay a fine or get a ticket and the cop just looks like an ass
