I did some research and i was sold on the synapse syncronic blowoff valve. It is a pull type bov which doesnt use a diaphram and is said to completely eliminate compressor surge. It is said to outperform HKS and was the sema 2007 product of the year, but fore some reason it hasnt really caught on yet. I've yet to install mine so i cant tell you first hand. check it out for yourself. www.synapseengineering.com they also have videos of their products on youtube.

I seen a couple different comments on how people thought the stock valve was crap. But thats why i thought i should ask.

My motor was just rebuilt everything was done from Radiator to cam and pistons.(only about 200miles so far). Running Metal HG and ARP studs. i was told that i need to re-tighten the Head down after 200miles because it tends to Float. Have you ever heard anything about this?

I was also thinking about going with the HKS Ssqv specific Kit for the 7m-gte

http://www.jscspeed.com/mk3/bov/hks_bov.htm (would you think this was a safe bet to throw on)

I am running close to stock specs (Stock Boost)

i like the synapse because its essentially very adjustable for how much air you would like to go out heh, and can replace 2 bov's if you want 0 surge and still get it

but really get one if you need it otherwise leave it heh

I'd run stock bpv until your ready to step up your setup. Head studs and 200 miles. Been though a few heat cycles eh? Almost time to retorque maybe, got tq wrench?

Another question? I only get partial boost in 1st and 2nd And full 3rd-5th.

Heard it was made to do this?

It takes a load on the motor for the turbo to spool, and in 1st and 2nd there is not much of a load to overcome so it boost a small amout then go back to 0 psi. For instense going 30 in second there is no boost but you are revvving somewhere between 3-4k, put it in fifth and floor it there will be almost instant boost at 1500-1800 rpm and full boost around 2-3k.

Has anyone heard of a hybrid BOV for the mk3? One that will let out some of the vent to the atmosphere and some back into recirculation so that the air fuel ratio wont be too messed up??
