so this is whats done to my car as performance goes:
3in downpipe
3in test pipe
3in exhaust sytem
2 1/2in i/c pipe

i have a hks evc6 that i want to get installed and a hks turbo timer type 1.
i called a place that can do it (drift office in auburn wa), but they say its not recommended to install with just the mods i have.

so the question is, what do i need?

If your on stock turbo just install it and go to just under fuel cut.

A safc would be a good idea too.

Boost controller and turbo timer arnt hard to install either.

fuel system upgrades to use the higher boost are gonna be needed. around here on the pacific coast 10psi is pushing fuel cut, so 550's/lex is needed, and possibably a walbro or a USDM mk4 TT pump, with a adjustable FPR.

but what im wondering is why they didn't tell you that you need a fuel system upgrade?

or as hvy just sugested, install it and run at 10 psi?

Everyone starts somewhere and yes electronics can be scary at times especially with a Pricey investment such as a car on the line

SAFC = Super Air Flow Converter

It is a piggy back system to the stock ECU it allows you to fine tune the Air/Fuel ratio for safety purposes so you can make more power

I think the HKS evc6 is just a Electronic Boost controller

Thats all it is.
You better just do the usual mods first, like the 550's, lex afm, fuel pressure reg, and pump.
You can install those two items, as the turbo timer is always a good thing to have, but the boost controller is really not needed with a stock turbo, as they dont last too long under any more psi than about 12.

The list of AFM part numbers that will work:

22250-50010
22250-50011
22250-50030
22250-50031

They are from 90-94 LS-400 & 90-94 SC-400. If I remember correctly, the late 94's changed to a different AFM half way through and those will not work.
