So take of every thing in front of the pulley even that cooler befor the fan or whatever it is?

The fan and fan clutch come off and you put the nuts on the4 studs to hold the pulley on...

The the time and do it right or you will be over heating in traffic and when not moving.

god speed also makes good products i like them as well. i think the only issue i have ever had with any radiator has been with mishimoto. no idea why but two of the radiators cracked on this 02 wrx and she drove that thing gingerly.

i think issues like that vary from car to car. they make them differently and sometimes theres design flaws supra people seem to be happy with mishimoto

I am on a budget also. I looked into and just bought a CX Racing radiator. It was a direct fit, but if your going to use the stock fan and shroud there is a bit of cutting of the shroud you may need to do. When i have more money i will get koyo or something like that

Might want to rethink that stance... 98% of the parts available for these cars are "China Shit"....

Difference with China made parts is 1st Gen is usually crap but each run they do they take any and all feed back onboard and improve... not always the case with "Quality Local" made parts..

I had HUGE issues with my PWR Mk3 Rad to the point I had to take photo's do some Tech drawings and ship them The rad and a stock one to use as a pattern to correct it for production...

This weekend I just fitted another to my Domestic project car and what do ya know it's just as bad as the Mk3 one was :nono:

If it came from China this would never have happened and so far on ALL the Gen2/3 Chinese parts I've bought they've been fine.

There was a time "Made in Japan" was a joke, then it was HongKong, then Taiwan and now China.

hey so why wouldnt u buy a cx rad?

I just wouldn't buy one. Same reason I won't go out and find the cheapest tire that is acceptable for the Supra. Same reason I won't seek out the cheapest battery that will start my car. Same reason I won't get the cheapest intercooler available. I just dont like buying the cheapest option unless it's proven to be superior or a non-issue. There are other good options out there for a little bit more $$. (IMO, if you are worrying about a $50-100 difference in a radiator, you should stick with OEM style units. There are plenty of good non-aluminum options as well.)

Mishimoto has a lifetime warranty and I've heard countless times how great they honor that. It's a well made, aluminum radiator. Mine was a 100% drop in replacement. The fan shroud mounting points were all DEAD ON. The water necks were marginally smaller, but new worm clamps fixed that.

I simply said I wouldn't buy a cx radiator. Not that it's a bad product, but I wouldn't buy it. :)

Even my Koyo was not a direct fit, though it is made for a JZA70 so I knew it wouldn't be direct before I bought it. There is a temperature sensor bung in the lower tank that needs to be blocked with a bolt, if you use an old sensor it will interfere with the aux fan bracket. You have to make a custom bracket to secure the lower aux fan mount. There are no lower fan shroud mounts, but the mounting holes at the top of the radiator line up perfectly for the aux fan and shroud. The shroud fits without trimming at all, just needs to be secured at the bottom somehow. All this is just in case anyone is thinking about a Koyo.

With our rash of high 90's, even 91 at midnight the other day, my stock radiator is holding out just fine. I had the Sport roof in place, and the A/C cranked the whole time.

It is also new, and I don't recomend it for the money. It is still NipponDenso, but even they are manufacturing in China. I was not pleased with that when I opened the box. But it works just fine, and is slightly lighter than original as it is aluminum instead of copper/brass. Which means cooling isn't as good as original.
