Keep in mind that I will choose my turbo to have the power band where I want it to be.;) None of this spooling at 5000 BS for me.

Even having boost at 4k...a large turbo will flow up top whereas a stock CT won't - It's about extending that powerband...Having an extra 1k rpm of usable power up top makes a world of difference and 2 cars set up the same with say, 67mm's(which spool around 4k) - One revving to 6500, the other to 7500..The latter will ALWAYS have a major advantage

I just switched over to a 6M crank with my new rebuild after having a 7M crank for 5 years. With the 7M crank, it is smoother, but it's not a night and day difference. It still makes the same great sound that all MK3's make. With my new rebuild, my pistons rods and crank are all lighter, and yes it revs faster and feels stronger.

ive got a fully balanced 6m crank, but after talking to other people im probably going to stick with the 7m that came in the car. im will probably have the 7m lightend so i can turn a few more rpms with it.

you can turn rpms witch the 6m just has more vibs the big key is how long will the motoro last in the long run as in 100 plus miles or k

i had my 6m knife edged and it's been balenced a few times.

i love it.

i figured it weighs in the 46lbs range. instead of the stock 48lbs and the 7m 55lbs if im correct..

it's been awhile since i've looked at the sheet..

i belive mine was done in a lathe but im not 100%.

i would like to try a 7m @ a 6m weight.

but i always though tif their balenced they should hold up so long as their balenced at an rpm over your redline..

I come from a land down under
Pimp: Both mine were identically prepped and balanced (mix up at the crank shop they prepped the wrong one DOH so then had to do the 7M)

I was able to swap them out within 2 weeks of each other in the exact same motor and as I stated earlier the 7M was smoother across the entire range but responded slower due to it's greater PMoI compared to the 6m.

The lightened 7M on the other hand is a joy as it's still smooth while retaining the response of the 6m.
