I have a 1990 turbo and am getting the engine rebuilt as we speak :icon_bigg . I have recently bought a t4 turbo and will be buying a t4 exhaust manifold soon (all the goods for running the t4 as well). Im looking for aroung 300-400 hp. My ideal hp range would be like 350.
I was curious to know what all i would need to run hp like that reliably and not have to worry about anything. I know probably some injectors and what not-but im not wanting to poor a whole bunch of money in it- anymore than i have in it now lol.-plus i would like to block off egr and that shit. i'd like to find a face-front intake mani :naughty:

Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks-

OK
if you have bigger injectors then you'll probably need a fuel controller like a safc. those are pretty cheap compared to other aftermarket fuel controllers but if you have stock injectors you'll need the safc to tune for reliablity but for your power goals 350hp, the stock 440cc injectors should be okay unless you want 550cc just in case. then a boost controller if you don't already have one. for your egr if you want to do it the cheapest way just cut off the egr but leave a piece of the pipe that connects to the egr and just weld it shut, it will work like a egr block off if you understand my explanation. tunning will give you the reliabilty you are looking for

thanks guys-
i got a good deal on a t4 :) thats why i bought it. lol

so i take it its pretty easy to make some power out of the 7m? i know a little. i originally had a '88 na and wanted it to be boosted lol. i achually bought a 1jz engine and auto tranny. But, i do not have turbos, manifold, or wiring harness. I would love to sell it and would be willing to let go for cheep just to get it out of my garage. but now i have a '90 turbo 5 spd thats my main project besides my '91 mr2

But anyways so with a decent exhaust and set up with fuel and what not 350 or 400 hp is easily reachable?

i appreciate all the help

When you list HP numbers are you talking wheel horsepower or at the crank? To make 350ish to the wheels I dont think stock 440's would suffice...even 350 to the crank would be pushing it i think. You could go with 550's, a lexus AFM and supporting mods (search this...tons of info), or go with something like Maft Pro to tune but thats a good bit more expensive. You should most likely also switch to a 255lph fuel pump such as walbro so think about that too. Btw where is Harrison, OH? Im in Athens.

harrison is right outside of cincy

what are the specs of the turbo you bought? t4 is just the size of the flange on the turbine housing.
