what would cause this

i'm guessing i know the answer but i'm going to ask
i just started a built motor and nocited anitfreeze on the ground it was just dripping so i starting lookin to see where it was coming from, i notice that it was coming from the around motor mount, the antifreeze was making a puddle and i didn't see it dripping any where to make a puddle then i found that right behind the alternator that was antifreeze was coming between the head and block. so am i suppose to guess that the head isn't true , or the block or was the head not bolted down enought and is there anything i can do now to fix it with out taking the motor apart

No, there is nothing you can do without taking off the head.

but have you ever heard of head and block leaking to the outside not inside the motor ?

If the block was decked and timing cover not cut to match it will leak up front were you said....

I would check the coolant lines running from the block hardline, to the TB, to the ISCV, down to the fitting on the lower intake manifold under the #2 runner.

The gasket that seals the lower intake to the head also seals that coolant feed fitting with a round silicone "donut" that is part of the gasket. If it's leaking, it will appear that coolant is coming from where the head sits on the block.

well i will be pulling the motor in the next week or so i will be able to get a better look

If you're going to pull the motor anyway...great. I wouldn't pull it for this problem until I checked what I suggested above

not going to pull it apart i got another motor now that i will be using so i will try to sell this one once i see if there is or isn't a problem

I was thinking the same thing as jdub. Remove the alternator and have a look/feel around in there. I'd bet that hose came off. Make sure you clamp it down (I forgot to clamp it and it popped off). don't rip the motor out until you've checked that hose.

Is this coolant leak the real reason for removing the enginge??? If so, I find it very stupid to remove the whole engine unless you have checked for the problem. In other words, why the hell are you trying fix a problem that you are not sure you have???!!!!
