I've been searching all over the web now for a product that i like, i've been looking through a few companies my dad uses that deal with industrial stuff. so they have the "fire retardent" stick and wrap sleeving, or DEI has this stuff called "fire tape" that looks to be a good product. but im just not sure... i want something thats actually going to help protect the harness along with keeping it safe.

any ideas or thoughts? and yeah i searched quite a few threads, but none gave any products for the whole harness that i saw.

and heres the fire tape:

and this is the other stuff i was talking about, only not from DEI, and it was "self extinguishing"

the guy in post #8 went a little overboard on that one tube, but it seems like it would work pretty damn good.

I found some "high temperatue tape 1000" and like the name says, its good up to 1000 degrees continous exposure?!?!?!

http://www.worbo.com/product_overvi...gh%20Temperature Tape 1000 Data Sheet.pdf

looks like good stuff, they also have 2000F rated stuff... but thats a little over kill. just need to find where its sold.

edit: yeah i cant find where thats sold... how lame. but i've been looking on mcmastercar.com and they have some pretty nice hook and stick type sleeving.

they have some "spark-resistant high-temperature fiberglass wrap-around sleeving" but the smallest size wrap 1/2'' to 7/8'' which might work, i havent measured how wide the harness is. but thats part number 8266K11. but its also orange... lol

then they have some "EMI/RFI-Shield polyurethane wrap-around sleeving" which is good up to 225+ degrees and also has some flame retardance. and that sizing starts out at 3/8'', so you could wrap a lot more in this, but its not very high temp, so i dont know.

and then they have some "easy-install wrap-around polyester" which is good for up to +257, so a little higher than the EMI stuff, and it starts out at 1/2'' but can also wrap 1/4'' because of the design.

if i was willing to take all of the connectors off of my harness and like redo the entire thing, i could buy some really col stuff, but the amount of time i would be spending on it would just be crazy for a daily driver...

Just found some stuff from NAPA that works very well to wrap the harness. Part # 784301 is a silicone tape. It sticks only to itslef, not the harness. Is good for 200° C/390° F.
