I just ordered a mk3 jdm Supra clip with a 1J, and instead of actually shipping the whole clip, which would be REALLY expensive, I'm having the man take all the parts off that I need.

So I ask you Supramania, what would you take off? In moderation of course hahaha

It's for a 7m Automatic swap

Find a local shop and see if you can give them a few bucks to have ti shipped to their address. You really should get the whole clip. Or call a UPS store and see if they can work something out.

The engine, harness, body harness clips, ignitor, Map sensor, Trans, all PS/Hydrofan lines/coolers/reservoirs, all ECU boxes (engine ecu, fan ecu), Fuse box and wiring, intercooler and intercooler piping, Intake box and piping, and maybe teh cluster if you want the tach.

I someone will chime in if I forgot something.

That's what I said, but the guy wont ship it without a clear place that has a forklift. And there's no way I can get one :(

no trucking places in florida? :sarcasm:

i have never dealt with a front clip but can you use it on a liftgate?

I wrecked my car at about the same time Suprahero was getting his 1JZ clip. He offered to give me the body portion to repair my car. When it arrived to him, there was no body part worth trying to use. Shipping destroyed it all. You should still get the whole clip, so you get everything you could possibly need from it.

Could you not have it shipped, and you pick it up at the local terminal of the shipping company. I'm sure they will have a forklift to help you there.

taken appart the clip is something that you should do.the guy will most likely forget or damage something removing it.
when you take the clip appart there will be a whole bunch of extra hardware and spare part's.it will also help you with your install because you'll have a clue on where everything belongs.

i used the a-arm's and spindle's off my clip to rebuild and powdercoat, then swapped them for the one's on the car.

pallet jack on a truck with a lift gate will work.

THAT MEANS A LOT!!!!
You should have said that driftmotion was the company. They really know their shit!
I still would suggest the whole thing. 200 bucks is nothing compared to that one damn thing you missed and it takes 6 months to find another one of.

Also, i would highly recommend buying all of the swapping stuff that you need from driftmotion now and have them send it with the half cut. That will save you lots of shipping money. :)

Yeah I knowww, but dad's are dad/s. He is shipping all the stuff we need to swap.
well, that 200 bucks will definitely cost you. Half cuts have tons of cool shit on them. Stuff that you can easily sell. Many guys make at least half of what they pay for the cuts because of the cool stuff they sell. 200 is seriously small peanuts out of the about 5k that you will be investing into the car by the time it is all done. Have him read this thread and hopefully he will understand that 200 bucks is a huge value. :) Also, what ever is left, you should be able to get 100ish from a scrap yard for the steel frame.

Slap your dad...

Anything that you're not using you can sell to EASILY make up the cash...

It's also less likely to have sensative parts damaged in shipment!
