I am about to receive a CT-26 from a JDM motor. Given the unknown history of these JDM motor, and unaccountable time in a junk yard, should I trust this turbo? He says that it has very minimal shaftplay, which is normal. Should I be worried about bearings or seals?

I will definitely be dry cranking it to oil it fully before starting the car. Is there anything else I should do to assure that the thing will be fine?

Considering the way the seal/bearing is made, not a lot to go wrong unless there's excessive wear. Assuming that the wheels are in good shape and are balanced. Side-to-side shaft play is the killer. Rust on the internal shaft would be my concern...fill the oil passage with PB Blaster and let it sit for a day, then thoroughly flush.

In this case, I am being told that it spins fine and has very little play at all. As long as it is as described, it sounds like it should be OK.

Thanks for the response Jon! What would you flush with?
