I just saw a supra on cardomain with the 17x9 cobra r wheels, looked awesome just the backs stuck out. What is the best tire size to use, and does anyone have pics on their cars?

with a 9in wide rim, u can easily run a 245/45 or a 255/45. i was thinkin about getting a set of aftermarket cobra rims (without the snake in the center) but was unsure about the offset. how far did they stick out in the back? post a pic of the car u saw.

255/40 all around would be a great match for a 9" rim
or 275/35 if you want a wider stance.

they do make them in 18s. i had a buddy with a blown 99 cobra that had chrome cobra r's in 18in. have to go through aftermarket, ford racing does not sell them- at leat i dont think so.

cobra wheels are made in 17's.

AFS makes replica's in 18's and also in a wider design (11.5)

I ran 275's on the front of my cobra and 315's on the rear ;)

I never tried Falken tires so don't much about them. Maybe down the road I give them a try. Currently I am driving only bridgestones and michelins. FWIW, I think the michelin ps-2 is the best tire in the world. Very stable and sticky, does not get noisy when old.

it depends on the tire model you should pick a tire model for example azenis rt 615 then go to the manufactures website click the tire model and they will give specs for sugessted wheel width. they will also show other deminisions based on what size wheel they measured on using those numbers you can see how much bulge or how flush you will be mounted

example
size
255/40R17 94W 8.5 - 10.0
falken says the 255 is for a 8.5-10 in wheel so a 9 is fine
they say the 275 is for a 9-11 in wheel so you could run a 275 on the 9in wheel as well
