Am I the only one who actually thought of a radiator when they first saw this in their Supra?

I remember doing donuts in a wet parking lot, and it flashed real quick but I didn't see what it was, only the flash in the corner of my eye. Wasn't for another few weeks that I actually saw it long enough to think Radiator.

No. Seeing as it is next to the temperature gauge, I instantly figured it was a low coolant indicator when I saw it turn on.

What do you mean by maybe??
may·be (mā'bē)
adv.

Perhaps; possibly.
n. Informal.

1. An uncertainty: There are so many maybes involved in playing the stock market.
2. An uncertain reply: It's better to receive a fast and honest no than a drawn-out maybe.

I really hate that light, if you put in the coolant in the overflow, but don't realease the air right it will spit it all back out of the overflow and turn the light back on. Man I really don't like that light, it torments me so.

^It shouldn't do that. Sounds like something is excessivley pressurizing your cooling system.

But 7m's are new to me so I don't want to suggest a blown head gasket, but that is what's causing coolant to dissapear on my 86 SC MR2.

7M powered Supra's are notorious for this behavior. It's very hard to get the air out of the cooling system. It tends to create steam pockets that give you symptoms like this that look like a BHG. Unfortunately the 7M is also notorious for BHG's. :(

But yes, there are plenty of things to check before jumping to that conclusion. ;)

i'm wondering if the two might possibly be connected...

any system that traps air pockets, i think, would also insufficiently cool the engine.

can an air pocket cause a BHG?
