While fixing boot leaks I pried off these plastic hole covers in the boot, I've searched the EPC and TSRM and I can't find any mention of what these are.
As you might be able to see they are just in front of the spare tyre well.
It's got what looks like a pin in the middle and that rusted metal is just a thin long rectangle that's bent up at each end. It appears to do nothing but make twanging noises all the time.
