thoes things make around 300rwhp stock so the stock ct should be able to give him a run for his money.

^ yes, especially since i just put down 289rwhp and 295rwtq at 10 (creeping to 15psi) on a stock dying turbo. (mild shaft play and chipped impeller blades)

C5 is about 315 hp and 330 tq in stock trim to the wheels. You need an assload of torque to hand it over.
Which we have. ;)

i may be an idiot on this one.. but v8's arnt the best for highway pulls... they start losing efficientcy (sp?) up top.. where as our cars with teh turbos really pull harder as you go up (depending on turbo bla bla bla) i may be wrong though who knows.
Not quite. More displacement pulls ahead on the long straights. Boost is simply artificial displacement. And cylinder arrangement is a long way from being a very important factor.

An engine loses efficency on top due to cam timing and intake manifold design. That and cylinder head port size and shape.

i geuss it might depend on the engine then.. i was looking at a dyno graph from a pontiac 400 big block (given it was from the 70's which might have A LOT to do with it) and poewr drastically dropped off in the higher rpm..

And that has nothing to do with it being 400 cubes, but the head/cam/intake package.

ummmmm part of ur prob would be that fat excuse for a sports car aka the 3000GT VR4 why race an AWD on a freeway, the whole point of mitsu was to make a hard launch to make up for its poor design and fat car. SHAZAM T-88 BABY T-88 I just like saying t-88

I liked my 3kgt vr4 once I bought it, to me it was sporty and decently quick plus I learned alot from it and still do.. But after MONTHS of ripping my hair out when thing started to break from the so-called weight and AWD (and I didnt do hard launches), it got tired FAST!!.. So I'm moving on to the better side, Toyota side...
My friend (vette) and I raced about 3 times... twice on the freeway and once at a stop... As most of you would realize I lost all 3 times.. Like you mentioned the vr4 doesnt have any top end (high end acceleration wise)... We raced from something like 60-110mph... So yeah I got smoked... My car isnt a good FW car, so we tried down low, I had him off the start (awd) then about 70-75ish he was next to me then just keeped pulling!!! So now I want something faster, but still keep the import theme...
lol Later Ken.
