This probably should be in gen. discussion, but since I want to be flamed a little bit (keeps me on my toes..) I put it in here!..

So, Right now I am decided whether to upgrade my CT26 or whatnot. I just purchased a maft pro, and a FFIM and will get 550's, AFPR, hks ssqv, 2.5" intercooler pipes, 24x12x4 intercooler. Now, for the turbo, I am either thinking about sending my CT26 out for a 57 upgrade from MDC. Or buying a JT62 from notrice. The cost difference is $1,000. Now, my other dellema(sp).

If I go with the 57 wheel upgrade, I can spend 1,000 somewhere else on my car. I was thinking visually. Going for a Shine auto greddy front bumper with turbo A duct, side skirts, rear bumper, and a Low profile adjustable wing (not the 12" high ones.. Its about 1" off the body).

Or I can go with the JT62, haul balls and make 450rwhp, and have my body suck ass for the next year.

Here is the wing I am looking to get.

Dunno, save for bad times maybe? How should I know what you have there in US :) But if everythings you have is enough for you, do the engine or exterior without the wing... :)

^^ thanks. That's a good opinion and one that's tearin me apart tryin to decide.

How is it tearing you apart? Did you buy the car from someone else who put a crap body kit on it? Does it have collision damage? If the body is stock, you need to re-evaluate your comments, because a stock supra body is sweet. You're talking about throwing implants on a girl that comes stock with a pretty face and at least a C-cup.

Front/rear bumpers have cracks in them. I need a new paint job, so I figured I would update things before I do that.

Are you saying you don't enjoy implants on hot girls?

No, no.. what I'm saying is, if it's not broken, don't try and fix it. If you have cracks then you DO have a reason.

^ I think it was more of a 'sure it could make things funner... but put a ring on her finger so you can keep her around for a bit."

If it was me, I'd do the body and all the crapp you listed before. The car wont be slow by any means, just don't try racing anything you know you wont beat until you upgrade to the turbo you wanted. You can have a nice looking slow car (like a mkII....) and not be a 'ricer'. :icon_bigg I'm on stock turbo, w/ 3" exhaust and I think it's plenty fast. I'm doing body work before I go any deeper in performance mods. Just my $.02

^^ and thats the part that kills me. When we loaded it on our trailer we wrecked the bottom lip of the front bumper, Literally.. 6 or so big tears, The rear bumper looks like the previous owner backed into something and put a huge V crack in it. I think it *could* be repaired, but we have another rear bumper in good condition.

My car now is quick sure. full 3" exhaust probably at about 260-270rwhp. I wouldn't mind it being a little quicker though, just to make every day driving a tiny bit more exciting. :biglaugh:

I feel bad when I get out of my car and people check out my car because they see me driving and it sounds fast, then they look at it.. and just walk away. Almost like I should do my car a favor by fixing the exterior before it goes for a major turbo upgrade.

How much of a kick in the pants difference is there between the stock ct26 and a 57 trim with supporting mods? 60-75 rwhp gain.. I'm unsure

Unless you have some serious racing aspirations, take care of the aesthetic properties first. You don't need a car with 450 to the wheels for daily driving. It could be fun, but it's hardly practical, and has the entire local/county police squad staring you down every second, including all the state police in the area. Not to mention all (I'm assuming?) unwanted attention from all the ricers in the area.

Just make it look good, then make it go fast. ;)

I think the upgraded ct and the body mods are definately the way to go. I don't like the wing at all, but I do like the greddy with the turbo aduct. That's exactly what I have. I have the greddy copy from shine. Joe said it best.....I'd rather drive a car with 300 hp and look good than a broke down looking car with a rocket powered motor in it. At 300 hp you're going to be faster than most cars you run up against and it's going to look alot better as well. Good luck with your decission, but it's not exactly a defining moment in your life, so don't make it harder than it needs to be. You'll always have more money next year to go to a bigger turbo if you want............lol

I don't get much attention from the police as it is, even with a open 3" downpipe. Ricers??.. Please! They look at my car as if it's a granny car. I haven't raced ONE person since I got it running 6 months ago.

I don't think I will be going to the strip a lot for racing just because it's like 30 something each night. Though, that could change if I have good experiences. Also, now that you talk about it.. it is kind of impractical for me to have 450rwhp on pump gas for a car I am taking to work every day. << I think that just sided me on going with a 57 trim upgrade. We'll see once I look at pricing and options.

Edit:: I know the wing is a little more than needed for sure. Though, right now I think it looks better than the stock wings, and definantly looks better than the 12-15" high ricer wings. I would go for a wail tail, but to me they wrap around too much.

I have been talking to shine, and I am trying to find the right combination to peice together a good looking body kit. I know I want their greddy copy + turbo a duct. That looks amazing!.. But for side skirts and the rear? I dont like the greddy sides.. Too boxy (imo). I have been looking at the AB flugs as another option, but we'll see.. As for the rear, No clue :(

Just go no spoiler. Looks just fine, saves a tidbit of weight that's ultimately not even noticeable, but still, looks just fine. :icon_razz
