The lancer does have AWD if you like that and if you pretty much would like to stay stock stick with the lancer. Not that there isn't support but it does have more features, the body styling isn't so bland from the factory and the interior is nicer in most ways.
see thats where my disconnect is. If I don't have to stay stock.. I won't. And the EVO really limits me in that area w/ the warrenty, I'm not dropping that type of money on a new car and then just turning around and voiding it lol. But it does have those key points you pointed out as well.

a 4-door would be nice, plus the storage/carrying capacity would be an addeded benefit.
