If you're looking for something less common and want to chase down big power I would say the supra. tonnes of aftermarket support.
The lancer does have AWD if you like that and if you pretty much would like to stay stock stick with the lancer. Not that there isn't support but it does have more features, the body styling isn't so bland from the factory and the interior is nicer in most ways.

see thats where my disconnect is. If I don't have to stay stock.. I won't. And the EVO really limits me in that area w/ the warrenty, I'm not dropping that type of money on a new car and then just turning around and voiding it lol. But it does have those key points you pointed out as well.

For my case at least, I have 2 young boys and would rather have a 4dr car b/c of family. Depends on your current and what your future needs would be but it's best to have a good/reliable dd.

I've got three kids and t he wife. Both my older daughters LOVE riding with dad in his "go fast car" .. when its not "broked"
a 4-door would be nice, plus the storage/carrying capacity would be an addeded benefit.
