Fellas,

I'm working on the exterior of my car, so far. 88 N/A. I've done a few things so far, and this past week ordered a lot more (89 bumper, 89 moulding set, hella lamps, clear turn signals...). I already have the rims and JDM tails.

ANYWAYS... I got my Eibach Springs Pro Kit today. It's for MK3 Supras, you can see them on eBay, there are any of these same kit listed in there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/EIBA...33582QQitemZ8033240360QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I was told by my mechanic that the shocks feel a little worn out, and that it will tire out the springs. I don't know if that makes sense or not. Anyways, what are good shocks I could use with these springs? I don't wanna spend a fortune... but I believe I've heard Tokico Ilumina or something like that, is good with these springs??

I know very little about this stuff, hope someone can help me.

OH, AND FOR THE RECORD: My car does _NOT_ have TEMS.

I was just looking at 935motorsports.com ...

I've noticed this:

Tokico Illumina - not only expensive as heck, but seems to be popular among people WITH TEMS (not me).

Bilstein - says they're great for racing, and says "even NON TEMS people are upgrading to these". 370 for all four.. I guess this is a good price, but I don't know, I'm still N/A and even if I go turbo anytime soon, it's not like I'm gonna track-race or something... not sure I need this "awesome handling" n stuff.

The two that I was thinking of, are:

Tokico HP (High Preassure) - says they're for non-tems, and doesn't say much, except "performance is available as soon as you need it", which I don't fully understand. These are like 210 for all four.

KYB GR-2 - "Think of KYB GR-2 as what OEM should have been. This will firm your ride even if you have perfectly working OEM shocks. These shocks are not compatible with TEMS, and are not adjustable. When paired with a good set of lowering springs it's an excellent low buck upgrade." About 174 for all four.

Wotcha guys think? Moneywise, I'd like one of these last two. I mean, come on, say one day I raise my HP to 300-350WHP... all I'd do is maybe accelerate in a straight line in the street, maybe visit the dragstrip someday, who knows... but not running circles like a Nascar vehicle.

I'll await for your advise. Try to look wise in your replies, so I listen to you. Yeah, YOU! :p

I bought my suspension from 935motorsports. First off, they were great to deal with. I'm running Eibachs and bought the adjustable KYB AGX struts that they have listed for the front. They are really for a MK4, but bolt up to the MK3 with no modification or complications. I wish the rears were the same to, but they aren't, so I bought a pair of KYB GR-2's for the rear. I love the upgrade and it was cost was effective. I eventually want to upgrade to a set of TEIN Flex or HKS coilovers (last of my worries), but these are more than just for the driving I do. I like to adjust the front struts for hwy and city driving, and anything in between. Also If you save money on your struts, buy a set ST sway bars. It's the best investment for any type of suspension upgrade.

I kinda want the GR-2... they're cheap, and KYB is a good brand (I used to have those in another car). I don't care if they're not adjustable, just look at the price FFS.. but I still don't feel confident on buying these, as noone has recommended them yet :)

i'm running Koni yellows. they're $100 each. i have them set to full firm in the front, and full soft in the rear. i'm also running eibachs. (though i hate the eibachs with a passion) the ride is nice and stiff, but it lacks alot of what i'm looking for.

if only i knew then what i know now...

When I said I didn't wanna spend too much money, I meant it! :)

I think I'm going with some cheap ones. I don't have TEMS and my car is N/A still. Even if I do the swap to turbo, I wont be going for a lot of HP... and if I do, it's because I'll be economically well enough to buy adjustable springs in that moment. Gonna buy the cheap ones, KYB GR-2 or Tokico HP.

Bilstein! They're amazing, height adjustable, very nice damping, and have an excellent history.
They're about as close to a true coilover setup as you're gonna get, for about half the price.

I purchased mine at www.Shox.com with ST springs. Well worth the money!
Excellent service and excellent prices.

I think I will buy the Tokico HP just because they're a bit more expensive than the Kayaba GR-2, and I'll feel a bit ashamd if I bought the cheapest of the cheap ones :p Hehehe.

The shock's spring perch and three slots that they will lock into. When the shock is off the car you put the perch in any of the three slots you want. Thus making the spring higher or lower on the shock and adjusting the ride height accordingly.
