I have an 87 supra NA and i have been working on it for a good amount of time. I got a brand new 7M-GE engine in it with a LOT of new parts. Mechanically speaking, it is completely restored. I got everything ready for the initial startup but things keep going wrong. The #1 cylinder injector is not working and the #2 injector is leaking. I'm about sick of all the problems I keep having and i'm about ready to get rid of it. I have put so much into this car. I'm in college now and don't have a lot of time. What should I do?
Unless you have access to one of your parents cars and could use them for all your needs sell your Supra and buy a nice car you can rely on(Civic, Corolla, etc). That would be your best option. That or buy a not so nice reliable car so you can keep your Supra.
Supras are cool but not having to ever worry about your car and having money in your bank account that you know doesn't have to be spent on your Supra can be very satisfying too.
I'm speaking from experience. I'm in college too and my Supra is my only car. Luckily though, it's been reliable enough that I haven't had to miss any classes or tests because of it. I trust it but I'm still looking to add another vehicle just because it would make things alot easier. I only go to school part time though and work part time so that allows me to afford owning my Supra. If I were a full time student, I wouldn't even consider it.
