First of all, if this info is already posted somewhere please let me know.

All right, through trial and error, careful measurement or any other means, what parts meant for the MK IV Supras fit and work on the MK III. Anything from fitting the 2jz in to brake pads, what works?

not too much, they are totally different platforms, but wheels, and all the fuses, plugs, switches as mentioned above, but sc300 and MKIV parts are interchangable

Why do you want to put mk4 parts on your mk3? Seems like a big waste of money trying to fit something off another car to try and make your current car into a car that its not.

If you want a mk4 save your pennys and go buy one.

I was looking for minimal modification.

Any other platform share parts? I mean really anything?

Many cressida parts are interchangeable. Why do you ask anyways?

I am not trying to make my car something it's not but parts are much more readily available for mkIV's than for mkIII's. Some other parts from one car (like knuckles, brakes and such) will not only fit from one generation to another but from one car within the manufacturer and be an upgrade over the original.

I've mostly worked on Hondas so far and it's not uncommon for something like brakes from an Integra being used on a Civic as an upgrade.

That's because Honda doesn't care about making the car to its maximum potential like 90% of Toyota sports series cars. its all interchangeable because its the same parts all economy purpose made...

if you look closely, you'll realize that almost every high volume manufacturer (including toyota) produces interchangeable parts that will work on a number of different models. hate to break it to ya, but the Supra falls under "high volume".

I personally would love to retro-fit a MK4 steering rack and all accompanying steering components to the existing Mk3 subframe because our steering sucks balls. I think this is something that could be done without too much messing around but i havent looked into it properly...

Yeah, thats pretty much bunk. You would be very hard pressed to find any major manufacturer that didn't share a multitude of parts across many models and platforms, especially Toyota. It's just good economy for a manufacturer.

I remember there were a couple of years for the Porsche 911 where the engine could be bolted right into the vw beetles. You would think that someone like Porsche would worry about "making the car to its maximum potential" with their 911
