Use that little button on the center console for the power seat controls. Toyota gave you a sports seat with some side support so use it!

I say seats/harness should only be a part of a race/track car. If you drove a mostly stock supra with racing seats by me, I'd look at you funny. :)

First off, I'm not assuming you are doing this to reduce some weight, but the seats are very heavy. I'm just thinking along the lines of weight since they are very heavy and a lot of people agree that the stockers are comfy. So...

What I was going to suggest is if you are still interested in comfort, is to get some other power seats and weld the rails on to the new ones. Nice ones can be found at the junkyard and rewrapped for a good price. As a matter of fact, I know someone who re-covers the entire interior, good quality work, in leather for $500.

If not then I'd suggest Bride seats. What color interior?

You could get a pair EVO Recaro seats for $500. Then just buy the seat brackets separately, another $250.

Found this set for $750 shipped at evolutionm.net

Recaros = Best, but way too costly. Sparcos? Eh, you can get something better for cheaper. Corbeaus are nice, too, but again for some that I'd like you're looking at spending a decent amount Kragen/Schucks/Checker auto stores have some decent and fairly comfortable simulated leather racing seats for $99ea. right now. They're like $149 -$50 by mail. I've sat in them in the store and ridden in my friend's 240SX with these seats and they are AWESOME for the price. If your local store doesn't stock them, the part# is FML-100 and they can be ordered. I know because I work there. :) Pic:

Only slightly OT, but does somebody make brackets to fit universal racing seats in the MKIII without any fabrication?

Thanks,
Collin

I come from a land down under
^ I'm with Poodles on this!

I used the stock 240z seats in my old Z car and had Harness holes cut in them, the plan was to build braces back to the roll cage but I just never got around to it....... :nono:

MOST of my injuries were from the seat back breaking when I wrecked.

$1000 is not a lot when it comes to seats. Getting a pair of seats, mounting brackets and harnesses will cost more than that unless you cheap out on something. And none of that stuff is stuff you should be cheaping out on.

Didn't we have the seat discussion a couple weeks ago? I remember another thread with some good info on seats in it.

But save up some money and do it right, $1000 is going to be stretching that money a long way. Just do the driver's side for now and then do the passenger side later when you have money. I mean there are cheaper options out there. You could do 2 Buddy Club seats and a pair of Crow Harnesses, but that will put you up around $1000 already. And then you would need to pay someone to make brackets to mount the seats. And if you want sliders that would be more. The Buddy Club seats aren't bad for what you pay for them, but they aren't great and not FIA approved if you care about that. Crow harnesses are a good deal though, I've used them in cars before and are pretty nice for what they cost.

The most expensive seats out there are cheap compared to the bills you'll have to pay when your injured in a crash. Take a look at IJ's pics, decide if your willing to pony up to stay safe and if not spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Don't skimp out on safety.
