What kind of IC piping would you want?

Which figure appeals to you?

Hey guys.

I've been toying with the idea of making IC piping kits for the community with some competitive prices. I need to scope a majority of what people want as far as design for the upper pipes.

There are (3) designs available I'm concidering:

Figure #1 (Down the side)
Users: Manny Akim (picture)

Figure #2 (Concave to valve covers.)
Users: Orian Iglesias (picture)

&

Figure #3 (Stock route, just hard pipes.)

Cooleze IC pipe kits sell for: $449.95
LIPP IC pipe kits sell for: $385.00

Kits will only be made out of stainless steel.
My prices would be decided later. The purpose of this thread again, is to see what design people most want so I can mass make these so turn around time will be sooner.

#2 you'll have to relocate your PS res and I doubt you can use an AFM again, or any turbo without having a flange to rotate it away. I doubt this to be a hit.

#3 is most user friendly, that will let you use the space along your firewall most efficiently.

#1 Be different and it's the best looker IMO!!!

+1 for fig 3, not all of us can fit that huge pipe through the snorkel hole and #2 just isnt practical for people that arent running maftpro or a standalone.

If you make it the stock way and keep it looking clean you have a buyer with me. Would you go as far as to replace the 3000 pipe or just have it atatch over the turbo?

I like manny's set-up, and it would clear most tubos without issue. The concerns I would have are: what would you have to remove/relocate to wrap around the shock tower (iirc fuel pump resistor would get in the way...maybe that is it) and there might be issues with different strut bars (4pt bar for sure). not saying its a bad design, but it might not be perfectly bolt it.

The stock set-up works to (in my mind) but then there are clearance issues between turbos and strut bars.

There will never be a perfect fit (for everyone) but I think that Manny's routing would be the better one size fits all.

I wouldn't use #2 directly from that picture... most likely would re work it and somehow retain the stock PS res.

Just food for thought.
I'll probably have some example pictures these next couple of weeks to show what's exactly for purchase.

I think it may end up with me doing a "made to order" situation so you can customize what you want exactly.

The 2.5" would delete the 3,000 pipe unless otherwise asked to retain it.

I vote for #1 as well :biglaugh:

I suggest nothing bigger than 2.5 inch piping because with my 2.75 inch piping it does not align correctly with the stock TB when deleting the 3000 pipe. It'll work perfect with 2.5 inch. My piping fits to TB with a flexable Silicone hose, works perfectly fine.

Another thing about #1 is that you'll have to bypass the fuel pump resistor (12v mod)

And YES the pipe passes over the hotside of the turbo, a heat shield or a turbo blanket will keep it cool
