89 Mahogany Pearl here :) Don't see too many of these. Needs a paint job though. Looks more like an 86.5 Metallic Brown :nono: [Engine bay and insides of doors are the right color though.]

However, '93 MKIII's do exist, but in Japan only.

They exist everywhere. In Japan they use production date instead of model year like we do. In Japan the A70 was produced from 02/86 to 05/93, for North America the A70 was produced from 01/86 to 05/93 (model years 86.5-92). Toyota learned from their mistake with the 86/86.5 Supra, they never did that again. They would usually skip an entire model year, etc. instead (like going from the 89 to 91 MR2 even though there was no production gap). Model year 1992, despite having the fewest A70's sold in North America of any year, actually had the longest production period, from 08/1991 to 05/1993.

You sure about that? It doesnt make sense to me since the 93 MkIV supra would have came out in around mid to Late '92. At least that is what I would have thought. I could be wrong though

The 1993 Supra came out in mid-93. Production didn't start until 05/1993, which is very late to start, especially considering model year 94 production started in 08/1993. It was a very short period.

I was under the impression that the 1st MkIV's were technically called 93.5 Supras.

They were sold as 93.5's in the USA, though in Canada they skipped 1993 altogether and the MKIV started with model year 1994.

Same way an 86 Supra was a MKII, and an 86.5 was a MKIII. The 1993 Supra was a MKIII, and the 93.5 was a MKIV.

Not quite. There was no 1993 model year MKIII. Despite late production, the model year was 1992. Again in Japan they don't use model years like we do, they go by production date (so they would call it a 93 Supra, but there was never an "86" Supra (Celica XX I guess) in Japan. Production ended in 12/1985).

There never were any MK2's made in 1986, they were all made in 1985, but Supras made from 08/85 to 12/85 were sold as model year 86 in North America. Production of the "86.5" Supra started in 01/1986.

The correlation between model years and production years can get confusing, especially if they start early or late for a model year. Knowing what is what can be confusing as well.

MK2 Production = Model years 82-86 / Actual Production from 08/81 - 12/85
MK3 Production = Model years 86-92 / Actual Production from 01/86 - 05/93 (02/86 - 05/93 for Japan -- No model years)
MK4 Production = Model years 93-98 / Actual Production from 05/93 - 08/98 (05/93 - 08/02 for Japan -- No model years, 08/93 - 09/97 for Canada -- Model years 94-97)

Yeup. Drove it all the way home from Tennessee. Flew down with my wife, bought it, and drove it home. It was a fun trip.

Oh wow, that sounds like a good drive. Is it stock?

Conveniently already broken. Saves me the trouble of doing that.
Already broken for $8100? Seems a bit steep doesn't it? There are cars that would be worth that in already broken condition, a Mk3 Supra is not really one I've ever seen with that kind of market though...
