What is the best way to clean grime off of head?

I have seen media blasting on aluminum but of you don't know what you are doing, then you will damage it.

I had an intake manifold blasted and it looked great. All dirt was removed and all you saw was the bare aluminum, no pitting or anything like that. There are different kinds of material you can use.

A hot tank would be much better than a media blaster/sand blaster.

You get that shit on the cam journals or gasket surface and your looking for a new head.
