I'm spending a little more I'm sure, but I'm buying a kit from 935 for my single turbo. It's going to bolt right up and all I have to do is install the exhaust up to the downpipe. I'm getting a Garrett 60-1 turbo with the .70ar. It's a t4 flange, and hopefully with some 264 cams and injectors I will be close to 450 rwhp....................:dunno:
What do you think? any different suggestions Rakkassan or anyone else?
i've had no problems with mine cept for the wg tube. I've heard of the china manifold hitting the frame rail or being REALLY close to it..935motorsports said:stryder/xo2 manifold is a thumbs down in our book.
The china manifold will bolt on out of the box perfectly. I hear the SSauto bolts up out of the box as well, but it is well, SSauto.
There is also a little known china twin GT25 manifold, no wastegate ports though.
slidingsidewayz said:aside from the fitment issue about the stryder/x02 manifolds do they crack easily? because i had recently purchased one, and from the looks they're not too shabby IMO. the welds looks really clean, but im just more concerned about it cracking. i was thinking about fabricating some custom brace for it and also installing a flex pipe so i can avoid stressing the manifold as much as possible.
does anyone have any good luck with this manifold?
ic.... thanks for the facts.. do you think thermo coated the manifold would help it from not cracking as easily as to just leaving it as it is? or would that be a waste of money?becauseican said:Honestly most tubular manifolds can crack, I have personaly reapaired/ welded up 3-4 Greddy/ HKS manifolds, log and E-bay replicas too. Heck even most stock Toyota cast manifolds are cracked. But yes the chances are higher with the china made replicas.
And just so you guys know, $1000 for a hand made tubular turbo manifold is a good price. I have also built a few of these, start off with $100-200 for true stainless steel flanges, another $150-200 for the stainless bends and piping, another $25+ for welding supplies then about 10-16 hours of hand fabrication and welding and you can easilly surpass $1000 for a top quality hand made manifold that will fit perfect and without warped flanges that you have to redrill the hole to get it to bolt on, or cut and reweld the wastegate pipes.
