its a little black box that allows you to replace the VAFM with a spiffy GM hotwire AFM, run as draw or blow-through, and has adjustments for larger injectors etc. runs about 200 bucks. Made by a company called Ramchargers who origianlly developed the translators for the TurboBuick guys

Drjones is the man to talk to BTW Dr you said in another post that you needed some info from the NA car to setup the maft to work. Tell me what info and how to get it so i can make this thing work with a NA car. I want to go MAP when i do my 1/2 NA-T.

the thing we really need is someone to install the MAFT pro and do some logging in pass through mode....then we could really make some strides for the 7M NA, 5M and 3S setups...

Whats the difference between the maft-pro and and the maf-t?

a world- the pro does everything the MAFT does plus:

-has a handheld interface
-has a laptop interface
-speed/density conversion (i.e. no more MAF or AFM)
-boost control
-data logging
-Vf monitor/logging
-closed loop WOT with the addition of a WB
-possible timing monitor and maybe even control

well i was thinking about lex afm and 550's but now i think i should investigate this...

i read on the maft-pro site that it can monitor your afr if you have a wideband. does that mean that you buy just the wideband itself and plug it into the maft or do you have to get the whole "box" that comes in wideband kits like the plx? i also see that it can work with the stock 440 injectors right? how much boost can you support with a maft and 440's? where do you mount the sensor? in the 3k pipe or after the throttle body in the plenum? i'll think of more questions. should check out that maft install thread.....

the deal w/the pro is that you have a separate WB sensor + controller and you feed the 0-5V out of the controller to the pro to log/monitor A/F.

yes, the pro is compatible with 440s.

how much boost? as much as you want....but realize that boost pressure isn't nearly as important as flow level of your turbo. 440s should be good for 400 rwhp easily.

which sensor are you talking about? MAP can be connected to any post TB vac line, IAT should be in any post-IC pipe.

yes, you should read the "big" thread on the MAFT pro....

so would it be pointless to buy a wideband kit that also has the ability to datalog when you are running the maft pro that can do all the datalogging for you?
ok so 15-17psi on a 50trim ct and 440's should be ok with a maft pro? i take it the fuel pressure would have to be increased though? or does the maft just increase the duty cycle so that the fuel pressure does not have to be messed with? the sensor i was talking about was the gm one that replaces the afm, but i found the answer to that in the maft pro install thread. thanks for the reply Dr.

yes, datalogging on a WB would be a bit redundant.

chances are fairly good that you will still be rich @ WOT on a 50 trim (nm of an upgrade...).

yes, an AFPR would be a good idea.

yes, the MAFT pro can add fuel in the same manner a SAFC does.
