It definitely gets warm under there but the heat shield, turbo blanket, and heat tape bring the ECU down pretty well. I'm still considering an enclosed case and some sort of air delivery up to the box somehow since I have open holes in the front to work with.

I'll have to use a laser therm to check actual temps later on for a more accurate reading.

I come from a land down under
In my AWD LS Wagon Holden Mounted the PCM on the chassis rail right next to the Header, there's a thick plank of Heat Shield between it and the header, When I did the LS in my Mk3 I have a bunch of thermocouples in the engine bay so I could log temps, the location drake has chosen was one of the hottest... would be better off on the other side of the well behind the plastic inner liner.

Ya I used the space for ffim and there are plenty gains, one being a not pain in the arse way to do spark plugs :D

without a doubt, a beautiful picture of your engine bay. I'm envious; but, I also know to stick to my plan if I ever expect to get it done. There is still some opportunity for improvision... since I don't really have a complete plan. There are certain areas I'm going to have to learn... and money to earn to pay for it all, too.

It was a necessity in my case... 2JZ with FFIM, batt relocated...

again, envious! I profess not to be a mechanic... if I were, this thing would have been finished sooner. My friend thinks I should drop a Hemi in it. I just want to get it back how it was... pretty much, shooting for 500 HP... and I may adjust my plan as I get closer to that number... or not.

beautiful engine!
