Is this a mod, a redneck job (I'm from Louisiana so I can say that), or something from the factory? Does anyone else's look like this?

Yeah, it does look pretty bad. Well, that was from the previous owner. The car is in MUCH better hands now!!!

Thanks everyone.

I was in Kennewick last weekend. Had to go to the mall for some Christmas shopping. Welcome to the other side of the mountains.

Fusible links are available as insulated wire or in sealed units (such as the two right below it). AFAIK, older MKIII's came with the wire version and newer MKIII's got the sealed version. They're cross compatible though, so if yer look'n fur purdy...

I believe the stock fusible link is black, and that they're color coded. I replaced mine with a standard sealed 100 amp fuse from A.Z. Just make sure the holes in the legs are the right size for the bolts that hold it in place.

isn't that the "paper clip mod" for when you wanna see your engine codes flashing? or is it in the wrong place?
