lol... if you think the ducat is too expensive, take a look at the MV agusta... thatll make the ducat look like a great deal!

i love V-twin sport bikes... except for Buell's. got i hate those toilets!

my roommate has an RC51 and hes pretty good on it. it just Sound bad ass and i love the grunt. i decided if i were to get a bike, itd be a Tiller though. those bikes are great too, imo. for a Vtwin, they respond to basic mods better than the RC too.

I LOVE the sound of an Aprilia, and they kick the shit outta ducati all the time (or at least they did...)

they're also cheaper...

With all due respect, I think "all the time" is slightly overstated.

And you're talking about factory "prepped" bikes, not exactly the same scooter you see in the showroom.

I could argue about this, but I'd rather not...

there isn't much done to the Aprilia track models, their company has never been about selling a watered down product. One of the reasons some poeple don't like they as they aren't comfy or made for anything but a track...

Most modern sportbikes are like this anyway, with the exception of lightweight part and missing headlights (which aprilia has versions with all the lightweight parts, but with lights).

I hate to break the news to you guys but first off Ducati does not use a V-twin they use L-twins on almost their entire line and also all companies release a watered down version of their GP bikes because they aren’t practical for one and not many people could purchase one that was to closely related to their GP bike!!!

How ever on the other hand ducat had released the Desmocidici RR which is their exact GP bake made street legal i.e. it had head, tail light and blinkers and they are around 70 G's!

Also Ducati isn’t that expensive they are actually cheaper then Harley granted not even close to being in the same category, but you are correct in the expensiveness of the agusta and aprilia falls about in the middle between say Yamaha and Ducati!!!

actually, i cant STAND parallel twin motors. at least, if they sound like the kawi EX500's. i MUCH prefer the sound of a 90* vtwin over a parallel twin or even I-4 bikes like the Gixxers and such. the V-5's confuse me though...

an L is a 90 deg. twin motor were as a normal v is I believe, correct me if i am wrong, 60 deg. and on the Ducati L's one piston is forward and the other one is up. Ducati was the first and now one of the few companies that uses the motor as a frame stress member.

they sound nothing like the parallel motors like the 500 ex they sound more like a Harley but they def have a very distinct sound!
