wtf this car is in chicago?.....is it registered? this car has got to be one of only a few 1g supras that are in the united states....id buy it just to have the rarity! be cautious as it may not be legal or impossible to register without mad cash...

Black with tan interior too! I wonder how many miles, and how hard it is to get it rebuilt depending on the problem? Slowyota, you know anymore info on it?

I come from a land down under
In Japan there's a registration/insurance breakpoint for 2.0L and under and I believe another for xx width (hence narrow body JDM a70's).

There's no sane reason to own a TT 2.0L engine that makes the same power as a GE 7M in the real world... :nono:

I emailed them, the 1g is very hard to get parts for.

If you look at the engine pic, it has a n/a afm, the wiring harness does not follow the stock route.

depending on whats reusable inside the engine it could be hard to rebuild as parts are damn near impossible to find as they were made in such limited quantities....the best place to find info on these engines would be euro supra forums etc as they are a bit more common in the narrow body supras...the actual rebuild process isnt any different then any motor...youll just have to find the tsrm specs for this engine...

i want to know the history on this car!!! how in the hell is a 1g supra in the USA and legal?

^very true.

but the fact that there is almost zero people in the us that have it makes it very unique. if you spent the time and money into making it fast i think it would be worth having in the U.S.

doesnt make sense no...but from a collector point of view this car is golden! it would be cool to restore it and park it....simply just for the rarity...agree?

I think that it is worth having just because it is a 1ggte in the U.S. that was running and legal at one point in time.

Not at all, for a car to be worth something it needs to be both rare and mint, I'm not 100% on this but I can't recall a LHD 1gtte being made so it's possibly a half assed swap someone thought would be a good idea.

Maybe Jeff Lange can verify if this car was ever legit from toyota.

thats like saying a 1j is not worth trying to make fast as it lack serious torque. the 1g is almost equivalent to a honda motor and if you put serious time and money + fab skills into it it would eventually be fast. but its all in the eyes of the beholder. im not saying that in this point in time that i would rather have a 1g over my 7m but if i was rich i would deff. spend the money & time into making it do something over what a n/a 7m could do just for the fact as pretty much anyone i meet here in the u.s. will have nothing like it.

it is a shitty motor for the car and there is very few/none aftermarket parts for it but im sure there is some way to make it fast.
