Ok,

putting this in here before it heads that route.

If I even see the slightest hint:

of flame baiting. I am making sure you get banned

meh sux, blah r00lz. banned for 10 days. (tissimo since you are heading that route, consider this your ONLY warning).

So keep it on topic and not the X v Y threads.

7M and building another 7M on the side to drop into my car. I love this motor it has never left me stranded anywhere, even after the abuse its gone through it still runs strong, couldnt ask for anything more. Ill try a 1JZ or a 2JZ later, ive ridden in a few and they didnt appeal to me as much so for now it will be a 7M in my car. :D

i went ahead and voted 7m-gte since I've owned 3 of em, and there's a '89 turbo supra sitting in my drive (with no drivetrain) and my '87 supra (with drivetrain from the '89) was stolen. :-/

6.0L L98 Chev?? I'm guessing it is seriously reworked considering the stock L98 was a 5.7 liter putting out a miserable 245hp.

^^^ That PIC is pretty close to "bating". LOL!;)

Seriously, I'm pretty impressed with how many 7M's are represented! I didn't really think through the mathematical walk relative ratio out there in production and tenure, but makes sense. I'm wondering how many FIVE-M's were made now... time to go Google.:biglaugh:

Good poll.;)

I think we can guess where this is going to end up. :)

This is funny in a way... I've been saying for years that a significant factor in the 'weak' 7M reputation is simply the fact that it outnumbers everything else out there by a lot.

So, if there were only 5 times as many 7M failures as JZ failures, the 7M would still be the more reliable engine... and this doesn't even take into account the fact that 7Ms are on average 5 years older. :D

Of course it outnumbers everything else, it's the only engine that the car came with stock in this region...
In Japan it's the exact opposite, with the JZ series completely outnumbering the 7M.

Hardly baiting just providing correct information ;)
(If I'd posted all 183 pics it would be baiting :p)

I'm running a 2JZ-GTE now, but I have no qualms about my 7M. It was running strong the day I pulled it out. I just wanted to try something different.

I'm just 3.0L I6 kind of guy.

BIG DITTO on straight sixes! Even in my old '69 Ford 300 with the three-in-the-tree STEP VAN!

...of course, the Ford Granada straight six 250 left a lot to be desired... but it was smooth.:biglaugh:

7M-GTE here with 216,000 miles on it... It still runs strong:aigo:. I'm starting to believe that the previous owner actually had it rebuilt. BUT... It's still comin out for eventual rebuild. 7M love.
