don't know if you guys have heard of Vems, its like a upgraded megasquirt (doesn't share any components with MS but you tune Vems using Megatune as well), its a stand alone that has input for knock sensors, Exhaust Temp, launch control, Anti Lag System, Flatshift/shiftcut, RPM and TPS regulated boost control, you can run closed loop with Wideband lambda, you can use stock CPS as trigger, control NOS, fans, waterpumps, shiftlight etc.

It's from hungary and very popular here in Sweden, its pretty tricky to install, like MS, and theres no good manual for it. You often need to build a new harness from scratch. I know of a couple supras that runs it in sweden, mine included, for example one MKIV with 800+hp, two MK3 with 700+hp, my MK3 with 500hp and eFFeTs crazy twin turbo 7M MK3
And a couple of different 1000+hp cars

I have never tuned any other EMS so I have nothing to compare it with, but if you don't know what you're doing you can easily blow the engine to pieces, there's no warning or anything if you happen to set the ignition timing way of and boost to 50 psi or something like that...

I kinda regret that I chose it for my first time stand alone, because it was really hard to install it when you had to learn what all values were for and so on, but I learned so much and now when I have done it once, I probably will put it in my next car as well. It's far away from plug and play...

check it out at www.vems.hu

You already have a map ecu, so that will get you to 500rwhp. Now above that you need to be able to control timing. So right now you are fine. When you upgrade past 500rwhp is when everything starts to get expensive. Like a twin disc clutch, rebuilt trans, twin fuel pumps or another big pump, stand alone ecu, bigger injectors, and so on. The mapecu2 has proven on many MK4's to be fine for 750rwhp here in the US because they can control timing. Now the mk3 on the other hand is a different ball game.

Many people have said that the week link in the MK3 is the stock tccs computer. I'm going to go with the new Stinger because it has everything that I need, timing control, launch control, good fuel maps, raised rev limit. For $1100 it isn't bad!

i got everything you just listed there except a twin clutch :p my fuel system and internals should be good the only thing that is lacking is electronics for fuel and spark control.

well i know alot of people like "suicidesupra70" ran the stinger unit on a MP t70 and was making 685?hp at i think 28psi. so judging by that what would you say my boost level should be set around, its taking its life easy in the beginning "break in" but i'd like to find its limit without blowing my motor. i think we need to get a sticky started on how to tune your car and what people have done with different systems... and does anyone know if map ecu will get rid of fuel cut?

Folks, under the EMS section there is a thread that has a list of just about every single EMS posted on here and then some that most everyone in the supra world has not heard of!!!

So search, research, find if the EMS fits your budget and make sure that the budget includes tuning....
