The next week or so I'm going to have valve/cam covers off to check clearance/adjust to hopefully get rid of some ticking and noisy top end. Anything else I should do while I have that stuff off based on your experiences? 88 n/a 200k new HG about 20-30k ago.

and make sure you put them back on with something other than those crappy phillip head screws. Either an allen head or hex, something you can put a bit of torque to. I did this to mine and they still worked their way loose. So get a light weight thread locker in a tube and put some on the threads. That way you can bust them loose if needed.
Check your hoses and clean everything as you put it back together.
