What does the BVSV do?

Yep...I've seen the motors without the BVSV. The line goes straight from the CC to the TB fitting. I assumed the BVSV was on US cars to meet US emissions (car warmed up 1st before vapor is purged from the CC)...could be a bad assumption.

That would be nice to know, since i don't have to pass emissions where i am at. My bvsv has a broken port and I'd rather skip it then replace it if I don't need it.
