Hey everyone,

My car is finally on the verge of being fixed. I will list all of the problems that I have with my Supra and I will tell you what parts I have to fix the problem. I need to know if you recommend any other parts while im at this stage.

The motor was rebuilt about 30,000km ago. So take that into consideration. I already have an MHG and ARP's on their, so I dont want to take the head off.

PROBLEMS:

- Turbo has chipped blade, turbo side of engine smokes up and smells awful after a few minutes of hard pulls.
- Accordian hose is cracked and missing chunks all over
- Power steering leak everywhere, ps pump squeels lika a mofo
- small vac leak, I can hear it, but cant spot it
- Timing belt, wobbles on cam gears
- Cam gears wobble on their own.
- Really bad idle (vac hose on bottom of intake pipe, is disconnected)

FIXES:

- Upgraded 60-1 Turbo from miketurbofl
- Cooleeze Intake Pipe
- Good condition PS pump
- Hose Techniques Vacuum Hose Kit
- New Timing Belt and Tensioner
- Good Conditioned Cam Gears

I also have a full gasket set, but I cant afford to have all of them put in. What gaskets do you recommend I have replaced while these problems are being fixed?

Here are the videos I posted a while ago. Nothing has changed...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=RBNSa-7pq5o (Cam gear v1)

Why does my car take so long to start up? After a while, the car seems to want to die...

Good fixes, as far as the gaskets, do from the head up, Im not kidding, otherwise youll be fixing a BHG later. Grab some ARP head studs, OEM gasket in case it isnt, toss em in, youll thank anyone who says this later, trust me.

+1 for reading the whole post before replying LOL

The oil leak is probably from the valve covers -- replace the valve cover gaskets and while there, you might as well replace the (probably stripped) phillips-head bolts that hold the valve cover down. You can search and find the specs for the hex-head bolts available at most good hardware stores...

Wait... I have an oil leak? lol

Heh, the problem with internet diagnosis... I took from this: "turbo side of engine smokes up and smells awful after a few minutes of hard pulls" that your passenger side valve cover was leaking oil onto your manifold.

Your turbo could just be blown, but that would cause smoke out the tailpipe (unless you had a huge exhaust leak)

The turbo blade is chipped to shit.

It would make sense that oil is leaking on the manifold. I did notice though that after a 200km drive, in the same area, steam was literally shooting out like tea kettle and making a hissing noise.

I think the cam gears are wobbling when I tried to take the timing cover off. It took me a few hours of sledging and breaking the cover and finaly I pulled the thermostat off. So that would be my doing :D.

ENJOY!!!

My cam gears & timing belt looked like that. Never had a problem...

If it is steam on the passenger side, look at the heater hoses and the bypass cap (plugs an unused port on the coolant pipe that wraps around the block. It is to the rear, and just below the turbo)

Have you witnessed the steam im talking about. I doubt steam coming from the heater hose would smell like what I have smelled. Unfortunately, I cant describe what I smelled because it was a while ago.

If the side of the head is still nice and silver -- then don't worry about the valve cover gasket. It *might* be the oil lines to the turbo, but I doubt it.

If the car was just given back to you after a mechanic worked on it and you haven't driven it for a week yet, it could just be misc oil spilled on the manifold/turbo (or even some grease on the mechanic's hand getting transfered to the cast iron)
