Jackson racing has been building supercharger kits for Hondas FOOOORREEEEVVVEEERRR.. The majority of thier kits use a roots type blower and because of that, there is no room for an intercooler so boost had to be relatively low (6-8psi). Or guys would make custom meth/water injection.
With the centrifugal superchargers there is room for an water/air intercooler, thus increasing efficiency and the ability to run more boost.

My friend had a vortech cent. blower w/air to water intercooler on his integra gsr and that thing would haul ASS. Even with the shitty ass FMU and no tuning. Too bad he never put slicks on it cause he blew the tires off from 1-3rd gear.
This looks like it would be a little more effiecient as it has its own oil supply and doesnt rely on the engines oil, among other things. I would say this is probably way more suitable for a 4cyl platform.

is the jackson racing rotrex the same as the one hks has for the 350z? they look pretty similar

Looks pretty serious, and it's an HKS brand kit. It says Rotrex on it so it's probably the same unit. I wonder if it has a centrifugal RPM/ratio changing system inside, to get really high compressor RPM's as speed increases?

Like someone else posted Jackson is a proven company. The only thing peolpe should be aware of is that like any supercharger it will make less power at the crank or wheels than a turbo at the same boost levels because of the horsepower required to drive to blower. That being said, I think this would be very cool to develop due to the the fact that it could be a far simpler system.

Thumb prints, specs, & nifty animation!

FINALLY

I'm not kidding, these units are stupidly simple and work amazing compared to the gears in a normal cent. supercharger.

They're just now getting into the US like I said, but they have already been proven in Europe.

It's basicly a planetary gearset using no teeth. The oil is a traction type of fluid and is very efficent in use.

Don't get me wrong, guys, I'm not saying it can't work. I'm saying I won't pony up any cash to buy one until I see a shitload more information. If someone else wants to be the bleeding edge guy who tries one out, fill your boots.

lol. I cant see this being any better then any other charger. I have noticed in the latest tuner magazine it has a banjo bolt for the oil supply. I do not know if it is separate from the engine oil or not.

Why not just get an exhaust manifold and ct26 and turbo it? Easier and cheaper.

There's more involved than that...but then again, there's more involved than shoving an S/C in the car too.

Well yea of course theres a LOT more that just that..But it think itd be easier than making custom brackets, manifolds and belts..and whatever else youd need.

Yeah, I agree. Turbo is easier. It's his choice though.

Efficency level...

Turbo
Rotrex
Gear driven cent. supercharger
roots style

Rotrex gets a hell of a lot closer to the efficency of a turbo, and it's easier to mount in say... a V8 engine bay.
