I wouln't buy it simly for the fact that it seems as if the current owned had not kept up with the engine.

That thing is damn dirty. I dont like brown, cloth or two tones. The wheels are to flashy for me.

Just my to cents. Look on the forums here, you could get a much much better deal.

I'd sell the rims, drive over this summer, and either JDM or rebuild over winter.. One of the major factors in this buy is body shape and interior, the engine no matter what is coming out over winter.

you guys all know im talking Canadian funds right?

Still thats $3851.00 USD. I dont know how rare a supra is in Canada, but there has to be a better deal than that up there. You should hold out Ive seen cars in similar shape go for under 2.5K in CA.

Hard to find shells in good condition, especially relatively close to your location.. Costs quite a bit to have a shell shipped, or towed, or to go pick it up even. And again, most shells are ditched because they need work...

the engine looks like it has been replace whith one from a part yard.that the kind of marking they put on it when pull from a parts car.

that is true. but to me it looks like it might be when the timing belt was replaced since it has a date also.

2-Tone Brown/Tan Interior, leaky targa, sitting for a year, ugly wheels.
Sorry, man. It may be the one for you, but I'd definitely be overlooking that car, especially at that price.

BTW: that's not junkyard writings. That is from a T-Belt replacement.

That car looks great. I'd buy it, I would haggle the price down to $3500 can first tho. Flash the cash and he'll budge no question. I also love that colour combo and always will. Funny thing is I've never seen that car around town, maybe it's always down for repair :p

I paid $3300 for my grey on grey 88 supra non turbo w/ LSD with 180,000km on it... body is almost perfect (ding on the door, paint fading on the hood)... interior was dirty but in great shape... I thought it was a good deal... ended up having to put around $5k into the car fixing stuff.... ya, definately get it compression tested. Still have some valve noise, but my $400 credit with toyota should cover most of that job... now it's running great at about an $8k CAN investment...

The selection in Canada sucks for Mk3's. I watched the market for 2 months before I gave up and had the one I wanted shipped all the way from Florida. The asking price for the car is common for a Canada car, but often they sit around not selling. The blue book value for that car is around $2,800 CDN according to B.C. insurance.

If you've found a car you just might buy, pay the $100 for a provincial mechanical inspection. You'll find out exactly what is right and wrong with the car and go from there.

I almost bought an Ontario Mk3 car a few years ago and the body looked good until I got on my hands and knees, and everything was rusted to death! Salty winter roads killed the car.
