you will also need a pressure plate and clutch.

and I think you will need a slave cylinder but I'm not 100% sure cause I have never done this.

Why are you doing this? The w58 is a good transmission and shifts better then a r154.

lets see a w58 handle 350+hp for an extended period of time.

The R-154 is a lot beefier than the W-58 and can hold a lot more HP. I shifted the w58 and it seemed sloppy compared to the r154.

I think that you might need a flywheel too. Not sure though.

a properly maintained W58 will handle a fair to good amount of horsepower for a while before failing (with proper clutch), and in almost all cases the W58 shifts smoother and easier than the r154.

what is Sniper's reason for doing this? looking at the profile, he's NA. either he's preparing for a lot of power or this is what he could get his hands on easiest to replace an ailing W58.

I've been thinking about doing this swap too. My w58 grinds 2nd bad, is a pain to get in reverse and sometimes into 1st. Not to mention that overall it shifts like shit. But all that is probably sue to the fact that when I bought the car, pretty much all of the bushings in the shifter were either extremely worn out or disintigrated already. I replaced them all when i did the SOGI short shift, but i think the damage has already been done because it still feels like shit.

ooh, i f'cking called that one! and you're right, as long as you get the 1j bellhousing the r154 will mate up to it.
