I had rattles everywhere from driving w/ next to no exhaust, some exhaust, and racing exhaust... all that inline six noise shook my car apart... it was totaled in a 5 lane intersection I mistook for a 4 lane (not being able to see the 5th) and a car t-boned me out of a blindspot basically... never fixed the rattles :(

Talked to Aaron at Driftmotion and got my motor ready to be shipped out :) I'm shipping it from their shop to Performance Plus Global Logistics in St. Charles for a little over $200 with insurance. Good deal, if anyone needs freight I can point you to them. They do great work.

Anywho here it is with everything including map sensor, ecu, and ignitor all wrapped up ready to be shipped out. I can't wait to have it in person, it gets shipped tomorrow!

I'm actually trying to take the stock ct26 from my 7m so I can put it on the 1jz with my 3" turboback 7m exhaust. I'm just trying to source the driftmotion adapter kit. If anyone knows how to get one please let me know. I'd love to ditch my stock twins while its off the car!

figured out just how bad the ebay 1JZ y-pipe/DP combo really is;

latest issue; either the bend is too tight or the pipe is too short as the DP hits the floor prior to the flanges meeting, i think if I add another flange the 3/8" that it'll drop down should do... more welding...

previous issues;

3/5 - flanges needed resurfacing (ie: likely unusable)
1/8 - turbo to manifold nuts needed clearance-ing (round punch +hammer)
3/8 - turbo to manifold stud holes needed elongation/enlargement

I think it may be usable...... damm POS... I think their disclaimer needs adjustment...

that's why you are supposed to build your motor in the living room. watch tv, assemble your motor, enjoy a tasty beverage, all while nice and warm in your pajamas.

I like the way you think. I also think you're single
You guys are making me realize how awesome my girlfriend is. She'd be checking out said engine, trying to figure out how it works, asking the occasional question, etc... I am a lucky bastard. :D

Amen brother. We did mine in the engine bay. That is not an experience I care to top in difficulty of automotive repair.

did you remove it the way emericaskater285 suggested with just the two bolts in the wheel well and and the two that attach bumper to frame?

Did you relocate your coolant resivour? I know I had to with mine. I have been really curious on how many other people have been relocating theirs. I personally made two brackets out of extra aluminum strips I had from my IC mounting brackets and brazed the aluminum and put in a couple bends here and there. It turned out pretty well. It is behind my right side fog light, and I can still fill it up through the original hole for the stock air intake.

I hope so ;)

To stay on topic, I drove my junker to work and home, and think I figured out why its not blowing hot air.
