Finally removed the intake manifold on the 2jz and wiring harness then i decided to check out the exhaust cams and from what I can tell it looks pretty damn clean.

I figured they were in great shape my friend takes excellent care of his cars he gave me this motor out of his 98 SC300 for free. I have been slowly tearing her down a little bit before exposing the internals since I am going to slowly gather parts, pistons, rods, ARP bolts and studs, etc. get the block cleaned and decked etc. etc. Goal is 4-500hp street car I want to build it where I can drive it to the track, tear it up on the track then drive home and to work the next day.

Hah that's exactly what I'm going for, mine is held back by stocker/fcon ecu and once that's done I'm gonna leave it there

It's pretty awesome having a damn reliable fun fast car to drive :D
I took mine for a run down south a few weeks ago and let my hubby drive it, he is trying to claim my car and give me his shitty holden :p

haahha I plan to go with ProEFI standalone since my motor is VVTI and the tuner I plan to go with likes ProEFI. Debating on going for Carrillo H beams rods and CP pistons since that is what people use for 1000+hp builds.

Around $200 shipped. That seems about right. Worth it since the fitment is good. Is it pretty flexible? I'd hate to snap it on the first speed bump.

It has a little give to it, but not a lot. I just stay away from curbs so I don't have to find out how much give it doesn't have lol

I have to say... (just because the previous post made me think)... I have a fiberglass Shine Auto bumper on my car. I have hit 2 parking blocks, scraped on the road (many times) ran into 3 slopes that stopped my car completely (they were too steep for my car to "nose" up on).

It has one tiny crack and is scraped on the bottom. No spiderwebbing.. no breaks. Kinda surprising.

How much was it from shine?

Think it was 200.00.. but I got the side skirts/bumper/rear bumper add-ons and whale tail.. because no matter what.. shipping is at least 200.00 due to size.

I bundled everything in one order so that shipping wasn't so heavy.

Your open 2JZ looks as clean as mine was when we opened it up.

Awesome feeling, ain't it?
It did feel good to remove the wiring harness and intake manifold. I just took off the exhaust cam cover to check it out and I was surprised but at the same time not surprised because I know the previous owner takes good care of his cars. I am not going to fully open her up yet because I need to gather parts to rebuild her and don't want the block and head to be exposed for a long time.
