Yeah farthest first, but do I need to if I only replaced the front calipers? The rears weren't touched. It brakes fine however the pedal just feels softer than my 88.

The 87 doesn't have Abs.

Finally mounted my 2jz on the engine stand, need to remove the intake manifold to help with balance a little bit but it's good. I used my old 7M head bolts and didn't need washers or anything just cleaned up the threads and fit perfectly.

Drove to Oshkosh and back to Appleton. She drives real nice on the highway. But when I got there almost half of my radiator was empty and all my coolant was getting pushed out the over flow. Didn't have any cooling problems. Bad radiator cap?

Turned over 280,000 km. I've got to pull the motor from the '89. I'm going to take the few parts that I'm still short on assembling the engine from it so that I can things back underway.

Damn it... means my head gasket is getting worse. Back in the glory days when I had my escort wagon it was doing the same thing, pushing the coolant out of the over flow. Changed the cap and it stopped. Was hoping it'd be the same for supra

I have no idea. I asked the PO about it before I bought it since I knew this was a common issue on these cars but he didn't know either. He owned the car for 7-8 years and never had it done. It has 205k miles on it so I imaging it had to have been done at some point in time

Generally speaking if the previous owner doesn't specifically point out the head gasket as being done and explain exactly how it was done and what head gasket was used... it wasn't ever done...
Most people that aren't up to speed on the Supra's will sell them when this starts happening.

Well it didn't do this when I first got it. I just noticed it pushing out coolant yesterday when I was driving a lot in the heat with the AC on

Head gaskets let go over time. There are usually indicators.
Of course.. it might be something else... quickest way is to do a quick test. You want to watch your oil, if you start getting coolant in the oil, it becomes an engine instead of a head gasket. A tester costs about 50-85.00 and you can do it yourself quickly multiple times. I bought one just because I buy a lot of used vehicles and its the first test I do. Usually the owner of the vehicle gets shocked when I am testing their rad for combustion gases.. lol.

Simple to find out if its head gasket or not if its pushing out coolant though. If ("IF") it is you want to deal with it asap.. the sooner you fix it, the less you will have to fix. (like I said.. it could also be other issues... I assume its a 7MGTE)

Its a 7mge. I could get a block test done soon. I just did an oil change and there wasn't any coolant in it, just lots of gas, and my coolant doesn't have any oil in it

soooo. today i pulled the crank and bearings out of my 2 spare engines. i'm going to use the good crank from the motor i got here, and put them in the motor i picked up locally. neither motor was as described, so i have to make one good one out of two. hopefully i'll be able to source any gaskets i need tomorrow and throw that thing in the car. :)
