What cars make kids think they are fast?

I've had some awfully weird kids ask to race for pinks lately. Dodge Stratus R/T, an escort with a hack job mid engine set up (wtf :lol

First generation Eclipses/Talons. They're like Evo owners that think they're so clever when they call their Evo's an "Evil-ution".
around philly it's a pretty long list. Hondas(non turbo), vw, plenty of stock

Everyone around here has those damn eclipses with the fucking tribal graphics all over them. Damn. I hate that. Mostly a mustang crowd though, big suprise though, im in VA. Lots of crappy old Iroc cars too, and the huge trucks with huge tires and exhausts. Dont forget the standard array of fart-can civics and neons of course.

other than that.... S and T trucks are horrible... the 4.3 is terrible...

when gm builds a performance engine, it seems to outlast the regular versions easily... take the same approach to all engines, guys!!!
Aside from the already listed crowd, I've seen a few Focuses, Saturns, and Hyundais around here.

There is a kid who sits by me in school and got his driving permit last week. All he talks about is how fast and nice his auto eagle talon is. It makes me sick to see teen drivers get off to a start like this. Poser.. :3d_frown: You should have to start small then move up, or just be a mature driver from the start. A lot of teen drivers just arnt mature and think anything they hop into, they can be fast in. Mostly these are cheap 4 bangers like someone else mentioned.
Ok, I'll add another story to this.
Way back in the day, I knew this kid who had just picked up a base model Mazda 323. Nothing special, it's a light car, but doesn't have much go-go juice. A friend of mine regularly drove the family grocery getter - an Edsel. The thing was in nice shape, restored, running the 454 ci engine IIRC, and a bloddy big 4 barrel carb. This thing weighed a few tons, but had some serious power behind it too.
The kid with the Mazda was absolutely desperate to race this Edsel for pinks. And he was convinced that he'd win, too! I'd seen him race, and he could keep up with the Honda Civic of the day (this is in the mid 80s, of course) but there just was no chance he was going to hang with anything but economy cars.
Of course, if he'd had the AWD rally version of the 323, it would have been a different story, but that was definitely NOT the case.

i had this mexican no offence come up and ask me about me selling my car. any way he liked it i thought that was cool b/c most people in my town never seen a supra. but then his lame buddy came up and asked me if it was a honda i got so pissed i just had to leave. oh yeah they were driving a neno.
