yes and no. bad for a DD as it'll quickly be the death of ur turbo and more. for race applications. it keeps the air compressed between shifts preventing the need for the turbo to respool. I never knew compressor surge would sound like though definatly a unique sound.

I didnt even read the thread, and i KNEW it was gonna bea compressor surge answer.

And that noise is annoying as hell.

And yes, ts not good for your turbo.

You may want to metion on here before someone goes out and tries this, that those race car drivers not using any type of bypass valve replace their turbos a lot sooner due to the added stress of compressor surge.
