Excuse the nooby questions, but just wondering what these things are? Engine is a jdm 7mgte (rhd):

What is this? What is it supposed to go to and what can I do with it?

---

Is this the factory bov? Why do I get surge back when this is recirculated? Do I need a new bov? Only running 6psi.

---

What are these plugs supposed to go to? Air-con? (right side of engine, dipstick shown is auto tranny)

---

What is this plug supposed to go to? Next to fuse block/battery in engine bay.

And finally what is that blue plug supposed to go to? Sorry can't remember where in engine bay that is.

--

Mostly just a plugs I have no idea about and any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I will try and just go by the order of the pics.

#1: "was" or is used for the charcoal canister / EVAP system. Now being a jdm engine it is a different setup, to fix just re-swap in your original throttle body with 2 nipples on top and re hook everything up.

#2: Yep it is the factory blow off valve. If your getting surge, Im sure it is shot, most are after 20+ years of use, or the vacuum line hooked up to it is broken some where making it not operate properly . Check vacuum lines if all are good, replace it with a new oem one or aftermarket one.

#3: The wires in the pic goes to the automatic tranny, used to adjust shifts, speed sensors, reverse lights, ect.

#4: The white plug is where the clutch off the A/C compressor plugs into. LOL I "lost" mine before and I was like where the fuc* did it go?!?!?! But I found it, it is just a short wire and gets lost in all the other wires in the fuse box area.

#5: Im not 100% sure but it looks like the harness for the A/C fans. I will have to look it up in the manual.

Here is the manual online, http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/

Hope this helps a little, now give me a cookie:biglaugh:

To topic starter -

Are you sure the turbo is surging? The factory BOV gives off a fluttering sound, different than most aftermarket BOV's. Is it possible you just got the sounds confused?

I'll chip in - The last pic should go to a "Condensor" of some sort. little 3/4" square block with a 10mm bolt holding to the fender well by the fuse block. 2 wires blue plug. I'll look at mine later and see if I can get a pic of it.

Thanks guys for your help.

Mastapip, that is a possibility. The car is auto so I don't hear it too much, but it does definitely make a sh-sh-shhh-shhhhh sound, and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't killing the turbo. Any way to test the BOV?

92nsx, thanks heaps! I don't need a charcoal canister correct? So I can leave it how it is? As for the auto tranny plugs, my reverse lights work, my shifts seem ok, BUT my speedo fluctuates (assumed this was the cable)....is this supposed to be plugged in / where exactly does it plug into? And since I have no AC (has been taken out) I don't need to worry about those AC plugs?

veedubin, what's the condensor do?

Anymore ideas?

I think the condensor is related to the AC clutch. Once I find my diagrams and notes, I'll be able to tell you for sure. Since I completed my swap, I stuffed all that info somewere. So if you can wait a few weeks I'll have exact answers. Sorry I can't get anyting sooner. Mabey someone else will be able to chime in.
