When I test drove my car when stockish before buying and noticed the brakes needed bled...needless to say it was a fear of not being able to stop more than anything.

Dude I have been 190+mph in a race car and I was afraid to go WOT in the Supra. Again not from fear of speed, but breaking! But my second Supra not so much just after new setup installs. And after the new AEM install I was scrared but I did a few pulls at 12psi, tuned and then right to 18psi!

Dont be a vag, rape that shit daily and every opportunity you get.

Win. You beat on it, you break shit. Fix, repeat. I still watch my temp gauge every time I hit it, though. I don't even own a Supra anymore and I still do it lol

I was a little nervous, at first. The first time I hit boost was in third gear at ~30MPH, car didn't blow up so I let off (test drive). Second time I hit boost, I went 1-3 and took up both lanes the whole time. I went from an 86hp 89 Celica ST to a BPU 88 turbo with a 60-1 making almost 400rwhp with no intermediate step.

Yeah, my Supras were down a lot. But, two and a half years later, I've never once lost control of any of my cars and I can fix just about anything.

Nope.

I love WOT :)

I drive my cars hard. Anyone who knows me can vouch for this. Supra or not its going WOT frequent lol.

Only "shocked" moment i had was knocking my 1J after going WOT from dig to 135 hitting the limiter every gear. Once that was done it started to knock and badly! LOL. I got over it the next day and purchased a 2jz lol

Never once have I resisted the urge to go WOT because of the potential of breaking something. Breaking shit is a way of life. When it goes, upgrade it. ;)

Once I have a steady, career job I'll floor it all day. Until then, fixing broken items is a bit concerning.

I trust my NA now, but it's taken a few years to get comfortable flooring it to 5-6k.

I'm never scared to go WOT... sucks being N/a.

As for being scared of breaking something, well I'd rather decide to push the limits and have it break then. It would suck to be on the freeway and suddenly need to pass someone then have something break. Part of my post work/maintenance routine is a freeway blast, if it's going to break it's not going to break idling around.

those are some great stories guys. i actually did it last night. i went WOT and it was sweet and i had no problems. i did race it also, and that was more fun. i do need to practice on launching. everything went smooth. it was fun! the first run...i red-lighted =0( but i didn't spin like at all and this shit TOOK OFF! i was racing a turbo integra and that was pathetic. but since i red-lighted, i got no time slip and i was pissed. second run...i need not speak of. =0(

Throttle control is the key. When Its starts fish tailing... just ease off then correct it. Did that last night.... was freaking fun. My buddies following me was like.. OMG SUPRAS.

Back when I had my Supra I never went WOT, and surprisingly shit still happened to it. IMO, don't be afraid to go WOT and enjoy the car. Cars like these are meant to be worked on a lot.
