well turns out my rear end is bad

well i just got back from my buddy's shop we pulled the filler plug on the rear end and it got chunks of metal in the gear oil.:3d_frown: so now i have to find a rear end for it, cause its gona cost me too much to rebuild it.( lost my job) which sucks. so if anybody has a rear end and you don't want an arm and a leg for it let me know i can't drive till i get a new one. well i can but its got that possibility of locking up so yeah the joys of fixing my car

You must account for 40% of the help threads on here. Why not hit a junkyard, my local yard has at least 2-3 LSD rears ..

It's gonna cost a shitload to ship one to you.

well i found on ehere for 400 bucks(used) i was thinking it might be cheaper to get one here besides i'd rather buy one from sombody who knows what they got and knows if it good. the one i found is without a warrenty and not garunteed to work or be better than the one i got. but thats kansas city for ya

Well, if no warrantee, at least ask the guy to let you pull the rear cover to inspect it.

Same type of oil that came out of yours, contaminated with metal flakes.
Pits in the gear teeth.
Signs of there ever being water inside (rust, corrosion, etc.)

Lewis,if i were you id delete that post and PM him about it. i did the same to try and help another member out in the general forums section and i got an infraction for selling outside of classified section. :-/

Keep looking in the FS secition, or post a WTB thread. I've seen them go for 120 dlls plus shipping.

You want to be sure you get the same gear ratio, and and Limited slip (LSD), if possible. I just bought one used and it was $90 for shipping via UPS.
