This. I had my car painted and about a month or so later, stupid shed display at Home Depot flys into my car because the assholes that assemble the things don't understand the very basic nature of wind in Wyoming... ~$2000+ in damages, and they have yet to do anything about it.

Anyway, at least you Canucks are lucky enough to be able to easily put plates on RHD models. ;)

Wow, hope your recovery is quick. Where in T.O. did this happen? Did you buy this car from someone is Mississauga? Looks like one I knew of. Good luck

This happened at Zorra Rd & The Queensway in Etobicoke right by Kipling. Yea it used to belong to a mechanic at the Canadian Tire @ Mavis & Dundas who now owns an MKIV & a Soarer.

I see. I knew it looked familiar. That same guy is now selling his RHD MKIV. He has it listed on Toronto Supra Club. Just thought I'd give you the heads up.

As a firefighter I see this a good bit and am tremendously glad you're ok, but as a wreck victim in the past of similar sorts I know where you're coming from and I feel for you my friend, I too shed a tear at those pics, however on a more positive note, who says a strut tower bar does nothing lol you're engine is still basically ok lol

wow. gald you're ok. I'll never forget when I was riding with my dad and my mom was in the car in front of us. The light turned green and my mom pulled out into the intersection. Just as she was about to turn, an older chevy truck flew through the intersection around 60mph in a 40mph zone. She narrowly missed my mom by no more than an inch. If they would have hit her, no doubt her and my sister would be dead. Needless to say, I'm a very carful driver because of that. Once again, glad you're ok and sorry about the loss of your car. Hopefully you can get enough out of it to start your MKIV.

I thought you were allowed to in the US as long as it was something like 20 years or older? That sucks though man, I'd be furious.

Yea I really want his MKIV but he's asking 25 grand for the car. Too far out of my range. He's a good friend of mine, when I told him about it yesterday he was almost in tears as well.

I hope so too, I know he was charged on multiple things so I hope something comes of this.

When I saw the motor when I first got out that's the same thing I said. It may not really help my suspension but damn does it help with not having your motor totalled :p

That's a close call man, glad you guys are okay though. I hope something comes of this too, I'm contemplating rather an MKIV Supra or a Toyota Aristo (still have the 2JZ-GTE) and converting to a 5 or 6 speed.

I've been taking anti-inflammatory meds that I my physician prescribed me and they seem to be working pretty well. For some reason I can't take advil when taking these, only tylenol =S

On a lighter note I feel good today, my lower back isn't bothering me today. Just my left shoulder blade is sore as well as my shoulders but I'm guessing that's from the seatbelt locking up.

On the road to a smooth & fast recovery =]

Sorry to hear this, but as others have said - at least you are OK. Your Supra took quite a hit. Makes me wonder what the Murano looks like.

Chiming in late, but... OUCH. Those pics hurt to look at. Very sorry for your loss. My MKIII got a pretty good thumping from someone in my parking garage 2 weeks back, and I am collecting parts to put it back together. Sumb*tch did about $3-5k in damage. But at least mine is salvageable. So, so sad to see a MKIII taken off the road permanently, and to know the owner's sense of loss over it.

The Murano only needs a new front bumper & rebar sadly. Wish I did more damage to his car =[

Thanks again for your support guys. The claim was filed today and my ins. company will be sending someone to look at it tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a decent amount of money back from it. I've also managed to get all the receipts for the parts I purchased for it so I should be able to get a bit more $$$

I need to know if someone local can sell me a set of 5x114.3 16" steelies with tires on them. They can be in any sort of condition as long as they inflate and seal. It's just so I can swap them with my Advans on my Supra before the company seizes the car from the shop.

As a fellow 1991 owner, I am VERY sorry to see this. There aren't many 91's left...and now one fewer... :(

I'd cry to man.

Glad you're ok.

Steve, I believe the general grey import rule here in the US is 30 years, unlike Canada's 20 year rule. I wish it were 20 year here, not too many 30 year old JDM cars in my price range, you know? However, here in Wyoming I'm sure I could pull it off pretty easily, they're rather lax here on cars. As long as you have windshield WIPERS (no windshield needed, but you better have wipers dammit haha), something that resembles a VIN, and all your lights/turn signals, you're pretty much good to go. Still thinking about going up to BC and bringing back an R32 someday...

It's actually 15 years in Canada :p You could always get a nice old Celica or Skyline 2000 ;]

Hence why we have all the 1995 R33 Skyline GT-R's running around now. In Quebec though they are outright banned and Ontario they are speaking about doing the same.

You have to watch out about cars from BC because their road safety requirements are a bit different than Ontario's in which they require certain lights to be added to the car and certain things here and there to be changed.

I'd love an old 18RGEU powered RA2x Celica someday. Almost bought a former race/rally one before I picked up my current Mk3... Wouldn't mind an old Skyline either, they were pretty sweet. However, not many of these cars are around anymore, JDM or otherwise.

I gotta ask though, what's with everybody banning Skylines? Are they any more unsafe than your typical mail delivery vehicle (aside from the performance aspects, obviously)?

Quebec is saying that, as well as the fact that they're unsure how to insure them properly.

Ontario is considering it for the same reasons. But once again, Ontario is probably the stupidest province when it comes to logical thinking (ie: HST, stupid laws, HST, more bullshit laws, insurance prices, did I mention HST?)

I am almost afraid to drive my car at times. I have had two hit for no reason other than pure stupidity on the other person's part. And then you see other peoples plight, like this really nice GT500 convertible that the guy took out today top down on Sunday, and some jack wagon can't chew gum and walk at the same time. Small crappy cell phone picture, but you get the idea.
