Well it happened

So I never hoped this would happen.

On my way home driving down a back road that I often travel, I'm going slow keeping an eye out for those 4 legged annoyances. When out of the field, up and over a hill, comes a 100+ lbs doe. Foot down at about 40 mph but it was just too late for it to help. BAM! Hit the deer, tires smoking, car groaning and banging with my girlfriend screaming in my ear, not to mention what seemed like 5 minutes later we come to a stop. I'm sitting behind the wheel with both hands shaking and gripping the wheel for my life. I'm sitting there behind the wheel hoping and praying what I think just happened is just a bad dream, so I get out of the car after the smoke clears, and it's not. There's this crumpled form of what used to look like the front of my 88 white supra, leaking all of her fluid all over the road. So my head hung very very low I try to open the hood to see just how badly my new 7mgte is fucked up. After hitting the hood trying to get the bent hood release to let go, the hood comes up. To my surprise, nothing was damaged, minus the grille being pushed into the radiator.

Now for the damage report.. hood is bent like a fritos chip, both headlight assemblies are bent/pushed back with both headlights shattered, grille is inside the radiator, front fenders have hoof dents in them, upper bumper support is bent in and touching the lower bumper and the radiator might be bent a tad bit.

All in all, it could of been a lot worse but after all the time and money I've put into this car to get it running and driving like it should, something always smacks it further from me.

Damm sorry to hear about that. As long as you're ok. I'm guessing the deer is dead too?

So you gonna plan on restoring or new shell?

Damn! That sucks!

On the bright side, MKIII parts are cheap as hell. If the frame is OK, it shouldn't take much to fix it.

BTW....I doubt it's gonna make a difference if the radiator is a little bent, if it has a grille in it.LOL Sorry this had to happen!

I'm already making plans to find parts to fix her. She WILL make it back on the road. The damage could of been a lot worse but it wasn't.

Yeah I know! We're taking so many hits now.

We're both okay for the most part other than a few slight back aches. We're not sure if its from the massive brake check or the impact from the deer.

Oh god I cried, I'll admit it. When I hit the deer and my rage diminished, I couldn't help it.

Yep. The deer died. Most might find this inhuman, but I pissed in its ear. It caused so much damage to my baby I had to get even. My girlfriend wouldn't let me run over and drop some UFC on its ass.

Exactly how "slow" were you going to have done all that damage.

And don't lie, you were crying cause you thought of bambi. It's ok, I've got a soft spot for bambi too.

Glad to not see any deer where I'm at. I've been reading a bunch of wrecks on here lately. Good thing you're ok

40 because I'd seen deer there before. The car stops real well at 40 and comes to a stop pretty quick, especially when all 4 tires locked up. Panic braking, yes I know.
